A lovely personal comic from Jey Pawlik about stepping away and destressing with the Magic Wand. The perfect way to say goodbye to 2022 and hello to 2023. Happy New Year all of you lovely people!
We’re hoping all of you who got to take holiday time had some good restorative time. I’m feeling optimistic for 2023. We can do it. YOU can do it.
A note from Jey: Hey y’all Jey here to tell you how I use the Magic Wand to destress! Times can be tough and sometimes I’m just not up for the whole kit and caboodle so I’ll just reach for my old trusty favourite instead.
This last year has been a lot with getting sick, having sudden wrist pain, social media being what it is, it really bummed me out. I’m thankful for my partner Michelle and my therapist, so things are looking up but I know it can be rough sometimes. So this is just a little something I do to relieve some of that pent up energy.

Comic drawn in shades of teal, about the artist Jey Pawlik, a nonbinary person (they/them) with short black hair, big rectangular glasses and wearing a long sleeved black top with jeans.
Jey is sitting at their computer while working on comics on a display tablet. They're frustrated. ""Ugh. I just can't get this panel right! What is wrong with me lately?""
They begin to look dejected. ""I'm falling behind again."" Their wrist begins to hurt ""Ow..."" A new tweet pops up about something bad happening in the world. Jey puts their head in their hands ""Fuck.""
**Page 2**
Jey peeks out from their fingers and closes the browser. ""I think... I'm done.""
They look over at their partner who takes of xer headphones to listen. Jey asks ""Hey boo, would you be up for using the Magic Wand right now?"" Max replies ""Oh, absolutely!"" with a big smile.
**Page 3**
The two hold hands as they make their way to the bedroom. Jey is still looking upset, but pulls out the Magic Wand from the bedside table. Max has a hand on Jey's back as a conversation happens in narration bubbles ""Sorry it's been a while. I just-- This is all I've been up for."" with Max responding ""And that's okay. Thanks for suggesting it!""
Jey and Max touch their foreheads together and smile while looking into each other's eyes, albeit a bit tired looking. ""Of course. I love you."" and Max replying ""I love you too!""
**Page 4**
A large drawing of the rechargeable Magic Wand is floating over the two panels on the page. It's the brightest thing on the page with the backgrounds for the panels being fairly dark (but not overpowering). In the first panel Jey's hand rests on the head of the wand and they have my eyes closed with a calm smile on their face. The buzzing sound effects swirl around the wand.
The Magic Wand has been such a light in my dark days. When I just don't have the energy to worry about toys, set-up, positions. It's my go-to low maintenance toy for when I'm down and out.""
A full body shot of Jey with their arms wide open and looking more relaxed and calm while hearts and stars float around them. ""I don't have to think, it's just there and it works. No. More. Stress. It gets the job done.""
**Page 5**
Max and Jey are sitting up in the bed. There's more of a glow to them than there was before. They're both pleased and less stressed looking. Jey says ""That was nice."" and Max replies ""It was.""
""How about some tea?"" Jey suggests.
Silently the two are in the kitchen making tea smiling at one another while holding hot cups in their hand, the kettle resting between them.
Jey holds their tea and turns off their computer. The computer reads ""shutting down.""
Wide panel of Jey and Max laying on the couch together, cuddly and cozy watching a movie with the only light coming from the television.
